…….TAKING A RELAXING BATH

Sounds simple doesn’t it? well for many of us taking a relaxing bath is a hard thought to bare not only due to time restraints but for some the mere thought of staying still for long periods just fills them with dread. After all we could be doing other more important things so we opt for a quick 5 minute shower.

But I am here to tell you that taking a little time out to have a relaxing bath can be one of the best, most natural things you can do to relieve stress and relax the body.

Especially if you add some Epsom Salts to your bath.

Epsom salts are made up of Magnesium sulfate. It’s a chemical compound made up of magnesium, sulfur, and oxygen.

Magnesium is the fourth most abundant mineral in the body and because many people lack Magnesium in their diets, adding some Epsom salts to your bath will allow the magnesium to absorb quickly into the skin. This helps to boost blood circulation, ease muscular aches and pains, relive arthritic symptoms and much more.

Best Essential Oils for the Bath

The best way to use essential oils in the bath is to combine essential oils in a carrier oil first, like coconut, or jojoba. For a single bath, three to 12 drops of essential oil in a tablespoon (15 ml) of carrier oil is the perfect balance.

We have listed some of our favourite oils to use in your relaxing bath.

  • Cedarwood, Sandalwood or Rosewood: Any oils that come from tree bark are incredibly soothing and grounding. Sandalwood is known for its calming properties.
  • Lavender: It is probably one of the most known go to essential oils, Lavender is soothing and soft on the skin which is perfect for most skint types.
  • Rose: It’s calming but gently uplifting and it helps with anxiety or nervous tension.” Rose oil supports all skin types, so even those with dry, sensitive skin will benefit from its restorative effects.
